Overview
This page audits primary-author material used to distinguish historical Socionics claims from the Before We Build reconstruction. The source set supports attribution of an information-selection model; it does not validate the constructs.
What the sources claim
Augustinavičiūtė describes the psyche as differentiating information about aspects of an objective world. Different information-metabolism types are said to select, differentiate, compress, process, and exchange that information differently. The texts use an energetic and spatial vocabulary: potential and kinetic energy, activity, excitation, time, space, objective ratios, and attraction or repulsion.
The source-oriented audit scaffold combines three distinctions: object/field, static/dynamic, and internal/external. It yields this attribution:
| Element | Attributed source coordinates |
|---|---|
| Ne | internal static of an object |
| Se | external static of an object |
| Fe | internal dynamics of an object |
| Te | external dynamics of an object |
| Ni | internal dynamics of a field |
| Si | external dynamics of a field |
| Fi | internal statics of a field |
| Ti | external statics of a field |
What evidence is provided
The evidence is conceptual exposition by the system's founder, including the 1995 “Model of Information Metabolism,” “On the Dual Nature of Humanity,” and the static/dynamic discussion. It establishes provenance and terminology, not psychometric reliability, causal mechanism, or predictive validity.
Limitations
Editions and translations vary, later schools alter definitions, and the physical-energy analogies do not constitute measurements. The archived raw/socionics/information-aspects.md table classifies Si, Ne, Fi, and Fe differently on static/dynamic from the source-oriented scaffold above. The archived source is preserved, and the conflict is made explicit.
What BWB accepts
BWB accepts the texts as evidence that aspect differentiation and information selection belong to the source tradition. It uses the three-axis table as an attributed scaffold for a clearer reconstruction.
What remains contested or open
The exact boundaries of the eight aspects, equivalence across schools and translations, and whether the scheme tracks stable latent processes remain open.
What is rejected or retained only historically
BWB rejects treating energetic metaphors as established physics or neuroscience, treating source descriptions as proof of ability or innateness, and presenting the eightfold partition as exhaustive fact.
