Overview
In the project source set, Psychosophy has an unofficial grouping into 6 sextas, also called quadras in some community sources. Each grouping contains 4 fixed types. This grouping follows the community source tradition summarized in the Psychosophy Library and related Russian materials.
Important caveat:
- These sextas/quadras are not part of Afanasyev's original theory.
- They have no official names in the source-safe sense.
- The thematic labels below are treated as project/community shorthand, not official terminology.
The key idea is that a sexta/quadra is not defined by a single leading aspect alone, but by a stable type cluster and its dominant thematic orientation.
Sexta / Quadra Structure
| Sexta / Quadra | Source-safe label | Type Cluster |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1st sexta / 1st quadra | ЭЛВФ, ЭВЛФ, ФВЛЭ, ФЛВЭ |
| 2 | 2nd sexta / 2nd quadra | ЭФВЛ, ЭВФЛ, ЛВФЭ, ЛФВЭ |
| 3 | 3rd sexta / 3rd quadra | ЭЛФВ, ЭФЛВ, ВФЛЭ, ВЛФЭ |
| 4 | 4th sexta / 4th quadra | ЛЭФВ, ЛФЭВ, ВФЭЛ, ВЭФЛ |
| 5 | 5th sexta / 5th quadra | ВЛЭФ, ВЭЛФ, ФЛЭВ, ФЭЛВ |
| 6 | 6th sexta / 6th quadra | ФВЭЛ, ФЭВЛ, ЛЭВФ, ЛВЭФ |
Sexta / Quadra Descriptions
1. 1st sexta / 1st quadra
Former project shorthand: Очищение. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: В + Л as process, Ф + Э as result.
This quadra centers on inner backbone, self-definition, and direct structuring of reality. It tends to value clear priorities, controlled effort, and the ability to reduce disorder quickly.
Typical strengths:
- decisive self-organization
- clarity under pressure
- practical filtering of unnecessary complexity
Typical blind spots:
- weak tolerance for diffuse emotional or material drift
- impatience with unstructured dependence
2. 2nd sexta / 2nd quadra
Former project shorthand: Хозяйство. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: В + Ф as process, Л + Э as result.
This quadra emphasizes stewardship, maintenance, and the practical management of resources, routines, and obligations. It is oriented toward stable everyday functioning and workable support structures.
Typical strengths:
- resource handling
- household/order maintenance
- steady practical support
Typical blind spots:
- excessive focus on duty or comfort at the expense of abstract system-building
3. 3rd sexta / 3rd quadra
Former project shorthand: Управление. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: Ф + Л as process, В + Э as result.
This quadra is strongly associated with organizing systems, central coordination, and formalized control. The emphasis is on efficiency, hierarchy, and making structure serve action.
Typical strengths:
- administration and coordination
- formal planning
- operational discipline
Typical blind spots:
- pressure to control outcomes too rigidly
- reduced flexibility in emotional or interpersonal matters
4. 4th sexta / 4th quadra
Former project shorthand: Культура. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: Э + Ф as process, В + Л as result.
This quadra prioritizes atmosphere, refinement, and the human side of practical life. It tends to value supportive environments, cultural development, and the combination of emotional tone with material stability.
Typical strengths:
- relational sensitivity
- social support
- maintenance of humane environment
Typical blind spots:
- over-investment in atmosphere versus hard structure
5. 5th sexta / 5th quadra
Former project shorthand: Потребление. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: Э + Л as process, Ф + В as result.
This quadra is oriented toward intellectual-emotional exchange, interpretation, evaluation, and the active use of ideas in social life. It often looks like a quadra of critique, discussion, and selective consumption of information and meaning.
Typical strengths:
- evaluation and judgment
- concept-driven communication
- social and intellectual selectivity
Typical blind spots:
- over-analysis or over-selection
- drifting away from concrete implementation
6. 6th sexta / 6th quadra
Former project shorthand: Реорганизация. This is not treated as an official or standard name.
Core orientation: В + Э as process, Ф + Л as result.
This quadra is associated with restructuring, renewal, and mobilizing people through will and emotional charge. It tends to deal well with transitions, reorganization, and situations where an old order must be replaced.
Typical strengths:
- restructuring systems
- rallying people around change
- mobilization in unstable conditions
Typical blind spots:
- tension between intensity and practical consolidation
Practical Use
A sexta may generate questions about a preferred working environment, but it must not select a profession, military specialty, or partner. Skills, experience, motivation, constraints, and observed outcomes carry more weight.

Source Assessment
What the Source Claims
Community and secondary sources propose six unofficial Psychosophy sextas or quadras that group the 24 types by structural patterns.
Data or Evidence Provided
The page preserves the grouping rules, type membership, and attributed descriptions; it provides no independent outcome or psychometric dataset.
Limitations
The taxonomy is not uniformly canonical, names vary by school, and group descriptions are vulnerable to circular interpretation and self-selection.
What BWB Accepts
BWB accepts the grouping as source-aware navigation and as a provisional clustering hypothesis.
What Remains Contested or Open
Whether the six groups have reliable behavioral, operational, or pair-level effects remains open.
Rejected or Historical-Only
BWB rejects treating sexta membership as a quality rank, a compatibility verdict, or an established natural category.
