Status and boundaries

This is a BWB research hypothesis, not an established neuroscientific, psychometric, or theological model. It proposes reading Temporistics descriptions as possible differences in the priority given to temporal tasks: engaging with the present, interpreting the past, constructing future paths, and forming meaning beyond the immediate situation.

“Resource” means attention, working memory, time, and effort. It is not physical energy, a measured share of the brain, or a numerical weight. Neuroscience concepts serve only as analogies for future task design.

Four temporal coordinates

In BWB, Temporistics belongs to the strategic level: it concerns organization of temporal and existential direction, not moral values. Distinguishing the causal reasoning of the Past (“Why?”) from the meaning-making of Eternity (“To what end / Why is this significant?”) prevents conflating historical causality with overarching meaning.

Hypothesis about positional modes

The following table is BWB's interpretation, not a canonical definition of the system:

Deduction, induction, and abduction may name operations within a task. They are not established entities of the positions and should not be moved into a canonical registry.

Biopsychological motivational parallels (Cloninger, Gray)

As a heuristic model of cognitive resource allocation, the four-position structure shares structural analogies with basic systems of behavioral motivation (Cloninger's TCI and Gray/McNaughton's RST):

These correspondences serve solely as analogies for experimental design. BWB categorically rejects reducing positions to monoamines (dopamine, serotonin): dispositional temperament traits and situational cognitive frames operate at distinct levels of description.

Community as a context for distributed attention

In a family, team, or community, different people may support different temporal tasks at a given moment: preserving relevant memory, seeing current constraints, developing future options, or recalling meaning. This is a situational role, not an assignment conferred by type.

A possible resource of complementarity must be distinguished from unsafe dependency. Check whether roles can change, whether each person has a voice, whether a frame can be challenged, and whether “distribution” conceals control or avoidance of responsibility.

Christian application reading

A Christian application may interpret diverse ways of remembering, acting, planning, and seeking meaning through creation and the image of “one body, many members” (1 Corinthians 12:13–22). This is the application's normative frame, not evidence for Temporistics.

Type does not establish vocation, spiritual gift, maturity, or church role; it does not excuse sin, passivity, or control; and it does not replace Scripture, conscience, repentance, or mature counsel.

How to test it

Research should compare the typological hypothesis with simpler explanations: age, education, language, anxiety, life experience, role, stress, and task familiarity. Useful measures include the number of scenarios considered, accuracy of event recall, willingness to update a conclusion, and ability to separate fact from interpretation.

The hypothesis weakens if independent raters do not agree, predicted differences fail to replicate, or context explains behaviour better.

What cannot be inferred

A profile does not establish human worth, brain type, morality, safety, destiny, vocation, suitability for marriage, or relationship outcome. This page offers no numerical budget, coefficient, or verdict for a pair.
