A level is identified by the question being answered, not by a keyword. “Future,” “will,” “emotion,” or “communication” can appear in several levels. Classify the claim by its function and evidence.
Definition and scope
| If the question is about… | Use primarily… | Do not reduce it to… |
|---|---|---|
| obligations, moral boundaries, consent, safety | foundation | a type preference |
| temporal meaning and long-range direction | strategic | moral worth or all planning |
| decisions, effort, roles, execution | operational | all behaviour or competence |
| perception and information exchange | tactical | all communication or relationship quality |
Context and safety remain explicit alongside this classification.
Shared example
“We promised to care for a parent” is foundational. “We imagine the next ten years differently” is strategic. “Neither knows who will arrange care” is operational. “We did not share the medical facts” is tactical. One relocation conflict may contain all four.
What can be observed
Identify the sentence, decision, behaviour, and outcome before assigning a level. A whole person, relationship, or conflict is rarely located at only one level.
What remains a hypothesis
The claim that these boundaries isolate distinct latent mechanisms is testable but not established. The boundary scheme is currently a disciplined vocabulary.
Alternative explanations
An apparent level conflict can result from missing resources, institutional rules, health, stress, unequal authority, or ambiguous language. Reclassify when new evidence changes the function of the issue.
What must not be inferred
Psychosophy Emotion is not Socionics ethics; Psychosophy Will is not Socionics Se; Temporistics Future is not Socionics Ni. Foundational commitments cannot be derived from any of them.
Questions for conversation
- What decision or outcome is this statement about?
- Could the same word be serving a different function?
- Which evidence belongs to this level?
- Does a safety concern require stopping ordinary compatibility discussion?
For a researcher
Use boundary cases to test discriminant validity. Annotators should classify claims independently and document disagreement rather than resolve it by intuition.
