Status and boundaries
This page is a cautious bridge between neuroscience literature and BWB's project hypotheses. It does not locate “analysis,” “synthesis,” or a typological aspect in one brain region, and it does not infer type from neuroimaging. The fMRI BOLD signal indirectly reflects blood-flow changes; it is not a photograph of thought, ability, or energy expenditure.
The working sequence is: task → distributed network of operations → behavioural and, when appropriate, physiological measures. Reverse inference from regional activation to a particular mental process remains uncertain.
Working definitions
- analysis — distinguishing elements, rules, constraints, relations, or states;
- synthesis — connecting elements into an interpretation, decision, or plan;
- deduction, induction, and abduction — different forms of inference, not ready-made neural or Temporistics types.
A real task usually combines several operations.

Temporal experience and forms of inference
Laboratory deduction often involves frontoparietal networks; rule discovery is studied as one analogue of induction. Causal reasoning relies on dynamic coordination between frontoparietal executive networks (rule-based deduction and constraint checking) and midline/hippocampal default networks (retrieving episodic precedents, mental time travel, and counterfactual simulation). Autobiographical memory and imagining future episodes share part of this core network. Abduction operates retrospectively by drawing on past memory traces to evaluate plausible causes of present outcomes.
These findings do not establish a neurobiology of Temporistics. A narrower hypothesis is that Temporistics scale results might be compared with behaviour in tasks such as:

Education, language, anxiety, experience, and task familiarity should be considered before testing any added association with a typological scale.
Analogies to BWB levels
These are research directions, not a physiology of compatibility:

The value-moral foundation cannot be inferred from physiology. Sleep, pain, illness, hunger, stress, and material pressure may affect the processes discussed by all three typological submodels and often provide a simpler explanation.
Safe research sequence
- Define the operation and measure it behaviourally first.
- Preregister alternative explanations and a falsification condition.
- Compare any typological scale with context, skill, and load.
- Use neuroimaging or physiology only as an additional layer in ethical, consent-based research.
- Do not turn group correlations into a conclusion about one person or pair.
